For those in need of some inspiration, Uber Eats UK has unveiled the regional 2026 Restaurant of the Year Award winners.
After a public vote, nine independent restaurants were chosen, which ‘represent the very best of British food culture,’ according to the food delivery company.

Shimlas
Representing Bradford, Yorkshire and the North East is Shimlas, a chain of restaurants in Bradford, Leeds, Oldham, Keighley and Halifax, serving authentic Punjabi-style dishes and Pakistani cuisine.
The chain has a 4.5 average star rating, with customers praising their flavour-packed curries, signature kebabs, and traditional recipes.
In fact, one diner even dubbed it ‘the best restaurant in Bradford’ — which for a curry house, in the UK’s curry capital, is high praise indeed.
Gurt Wings
For Bristol, South England and Wales, the winner is Gurt Wings.

A Bristol favourite, this joint serves fried chicken in all manners of offerings such as boneless strips, popcorn chicken and buffalo wings.
It’s also famous for its signature homemade sauces, including Korean Ketchup and Chinese 5 Spice.
The eatery has numerous impressive awards under its belt from the London Wing Fest, Bristol Wing Fest and the British Street Food Awards.
Coqfighter
In London, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to chicken, and we all have our favourite spot to head to at 2am when the post-night out cravings hit.
But the crown, according to Uber Eats, goes to Coqfighter, an Australian-born offering, with spots in Liverpool Street, Soho, King’s Cross, and Finsbury Park.
As you’d expect, it serves up yummy eats such as wings, chicken sandwiches, and salads.
On Tripadvisor, one customer called their Thai-roasted chicken ‘top tier,’ while another commended their quick service and generous portion sizes.
Jineseon
In Coventry, West Midlands, it’s Jineseon which captured locals’ hearts.
This Korean BBQ restaurant offers authentic cuisine, and if you can be bothered to get out of your pyjamas and actually go to the restaurant, you can watch the chefs cook right in front of you, on charcoal grills.
On TripAdvisor, customers praised its ‘good value’ and called their Korean Fried Chicken ‘legendary.’
Piatto
In the Glasgow, Scotland and Northern Ireland category, it’s Piatto who won this year.
Serving traditional Italian food in Glasgow, and earning an impressive 4.8 stars on Uber Eats, this eatery offers over 16 different types of pasta, leaving Glaswegians spoilt for choice.
Favourites include Aglio E Olio and Puttanesca.
Ragin Bird
It’s a good year for chicken lovers, as Ragin Bird, a fried chicken restaurant, won in Leicester, East Midlands.
Again, despite this city being famous for its Golden Mile, which serves up authentic curry dishes along Belgrave Road, it’s US cuisine that takes the crown here.
Ragin Bird, a Nashville-style chicken eatery offers all sorts of tasty bites, such as tenders, tacos, mac & cheese, and, of course, wings.
On Instagram, @xsullyo called it their ‘go to order,’ while @imz_vaiani joked they would ‘sell my sister for the half and half [wrap] rn.’
Nashville Cluck
And it’s yet another win for chicken enthusiasts, as for Liverpool, North West, Nashville Cluck has won.
Featuring four locations in the area, this Tennessee-inspired takeaway spot also won Regional Champion back in 2024 for its fried chicken, and even teamed up with US chain The Cheesecake Factory, bringing their desserts to Britain to enjoy alongside their meals.
On Instagram, @tori_22xx said they have the ‘most insane bread ever,’ while @xlisax1809 called them ‘The best.’
Junglees
Holding it down for North London is burger joint Junglees, which serves freshly cooked-to-order Halal burgers with unlimited customisable toppings.
On Instagram, @real_suleman786 said it is ‘highly recommended,’ while @munrrdhjunior said it is a ‘spot you can eat at every day, that is rare to find. Big up.’
Brorritos
Finally, the ninth restaurant to win regional champion is Brorritos, representing South London.
This Mexican street food takeaway spot was featured in the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year awards back in 2023, only three years after opening back in 2020, as a pop-up during lockdown.
On TripAdvisor, customers praised its ‘amazing quality beef’ and vegan options, such as their loaded fries.
The final prize
Next month the finalists will gather in London in a two-day live culinary competition in front of a judging panel, including comedian and foodie Ed Gamble.
The winning restaurant will take home £100,000 for their business, while each region champion will receive £5,000.
Plus, for the first time, to celebrate five years of the Restaurant of the Year Awards and ten years of Uber Eats in the UK, this year’s prizes will also include £25,000 and £10,000 cash prizes for second and third place, respectively.
Merve Basci, General Manager of Uber Eats UK, said: ‘Independent restaurants are the beating heart of the UK’s food scene, and that shows when the public rally behind their local spots.
‘Whether it’s your go-to local lunch place, the perfect late-night smash burger, or a TikTok-famous street food pop-up, Uber Eats is proud to support the businesses that bring flavour, jobs, and culture to our communities.
‘The Restaurant of the Year Awards are about more than claiming the title alone. They’re about investing in the people who are championing hospitality right across the UK and helping them accelerate their growth.’
